Abstract
The throttling performance of columnar metal rubber throttling porous elements is researched in this paper. Based on Darcy theory, the Reynolds coefficient, the volume flux and the calculation expression of loss factor are obtained. The filtration coefficient which is the most important parameter affecting the filtration performance of MR elements is derived. The calculation equation of porosity, the minimal porosity and the equivalent pore diameter of MR are investigated. It is concluded that the filtration performance is relevant closely to the porosity, the diameter of metal wires and the size of elements. The results are of important value for its application in throttling field.
