Abstract

Aimed at resolving the challenge of calculating eddy losses in stator end windings of large turbo-generator, the equivalent circuit method for calculating the end eddy losses in stator windings is proposed hereof. A 1240MW turbo-generator is taken as a case, the eddy losses in stator end windings is calculated using the equivalent circuit method and verified by the 3-D finite element method (FEM).
