Abstract

The capability of decision support systems (DSS) that are based on traditional database and knowledge bases is limited because of the lack of information. Business intelligence (BI) which introduces advanced technology into enterprise management (such as data warehouses, OLAP, data mining), not only provides enterprises with the ability to obtain necessary information, but also to turn them into useful knowledge that will improve an enterprises' competitive advantage. BI methodology is introduced into a traditional group decision support system (GDSS), and a new agent oriented architecture based on BI which is called BI-GDSS is given. Through detailed discussion about its components and its mechanism, we provide an effective method to improve the capability of GDSS.
