Abstract

This paper we focus on bursting energy harvesting to collect the vibrational energy from multi-stable nonlinear mechanical oscillator. The fast-slow dynamical analytical method is employed to find bifurcation mechanism near the slowly changing bursting frequency. Three-parameter, two-parameter and one-parameter bifurcation diagrams of fast subsystem are presented, the bifurcation mechanism is demonstrated via the transformed phase diagram, fold bifurcations and jumping phenomenon are observed at the transition between the silent states and the excited states. The rules of control parameters on the dynamical response are discussed. Furthermore, the advantage of bursting frequency is confronted with the traditional frequencies, results clearly demonstrate that ultra-low slow frequencies far from resonance may also produce large output current under certain parametric conditions.
