BPSK carrier signal detection based on Duffing oscillator

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Considering the strong noise interference and the great signal attenuation in low voltage networks, the Duffing oscillator method for BPSK carrier signal detection is proposed. The Duffing oscillator is very sensitive to weak signals, and a different phase of signal will induce the Duffing oscillator system's phase transition between the chaotic state and the large-scale periodic state. The method uses the identification of the Diffing oscillator's phase transition induced by the carrier signal's phase variation to detect the carrier signal's phase information. At the same time, on the basis of analyzing the variation rules of the system solution x and y of the Duffing oscillator, a kind of algorithm for identification of phase transition using the difference distribution of the system solutions is presented, which needs less computation than other methods and is more suitable for engineering applications. The numerical simulation and experimental test show that this method can achieve the good detection effect in a low SNR environment.
