Abstract

Behaviors of friction and wear of PTA-WC-1, HS-2 and HT-3 during sliding against SiC ball at 900°C were studied. The changes of hardness and friction factor on surfaces of samples before and after friction and wear test at high temperature were measured. Morphologies and depths of grindings were observed by microscopes. Compositions of residues at grindings were analyzed by EDX. The results show that microhardness, wear depth and friction factor of PTA-WC-1 are worse than the other two. The analysis result by SEM and EDX shows that it is due to the loose and weak surface oxidation layer at high temperature.
