Abstract

The methods to obtain the background component of structural equivalent static wind loads systemically are discussed. According to wind tunnel tests for several wind directions of a saddle-shaped cable-net structure, load-response-correlation method, gust load envelope method and gust loading factor method are employed to analyze the background component of equivalent static wind loads for different structural responses. The results are compared with the actual instantaneous wind pressure distributions causing maximum structural responses from wind tunnel tests. It is found that load-response-correlation method yields results agreeing well with wind tunnel test results.
