Abstract

In order to improve the precision of an image measurement system, an automatic focusing method based on fuzzy control and image processing is proposed. After linear and homomorphic filtering and taking the improved gradient square function as auto-focusing function, The focusing sensitivity of the system can be improved. Taking fuzzy control technique for adaptive step length variation in real-time guarantees fast and accurate focusing of the system. Experimental results show that the method has merits of one peak, fast response and strong robustness. For automatic searching in the range of ±100 μm, the positioning time is less than 2 seconds and the focusing uncertainty is less than ±1 μm.
