Abstract
In order to study the arc force distribution of ultrasonic assisted tungsten inert gas(U-TIG) welding and compare it with the conventional tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, a series of experiments have been carried out, using our self-designed welding and testing system. The distribution of arc pressure is studied, under conditions as radiation distance, which is the distance between the ultrasonic horn tip and workpiece, and welding current. The values of arc pressure generally increase as the current increases. Other experimental phenomena are also accounted for in detail in this paper. Welding parameters are thought to be responsible for enhancing the welding efficiency and improving the appearance of weld. Copyright:
