Abstract

Smith predictor is an effective compensation mechanism for large pure time delay. However, its dependence on model limits its practical application. For the uncertainty of pure time delay in plant with disturbance, evolutionary computation based on rough set was applied to Smith predictor, and a new adaptive control method was proposed by on-line adjusting time-delay and using feedforward compensation, it means adaptively adjusting time-delay parameter in Smith predictor and the parameters of feedforward compensator by on-line optimizing feedback error. Simulation result shows the effectiveness of the method.
