title = "Application of PSE analysis method with transitional turbulence model on hypersonic flows",
abstract = "An advanced transitional turbulence model corrected with empirical correlation for the transition consideration has been successfully applied to the simulation of the typical hypersonic flows in the present investigation. Combining PSE (parabolized stability equation) with eN prediction method, it has been studied how to find out the position of the most unstable flow within the boundary layer, so that the transition empirical correlation parameters would be more appropriate for the specified flow while being independent of designer's experiences. The typical hypersonic flow field over a blunt cone has been simulated, through which it was found that both the computational results of the wall heat flux and boundary layer transition region agree well with the experimental results. Besides, both the interaction between a shock wave and a boundary layer on a flat plat, and a flow across a compression corner have been simulated by the present numerical model. It was found that the present methods are also applicable to complicated flow with shock wave and boundary layer interaction, whose results turned out to be superior to those employing traditional turbulence models.",
