Abstract
In consideration of the unsatisfactory anti-seismic behavior of the concrete small hollow block wall, an idea to improve the behavior was proposed, that is, sticking the glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) sheet with good mechanical properties on the surface of the concrete wall to form a composite GFRP-concrete small hollow block wall. Through the quasi-static tests on 5 specimens including 1 standard specimen for contrast, the anti-seismic behaviors of the composite GFRP-concrete small hollow block walls with different GFRP sheet sticking modes were investigated. The test results indicate that the anti-seismic behavior of the composite wall is better than the concrete wall, the composite wall is characterized by higher shear bearing capacity, ductility and energy-dissipation capacity than the concrete wall.
