Abstract

Smooth speed regulation has been a critical issue for high-performance applications of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). However, there are aperiodic and periodic disturbances in the speed loop due to the load changes, cogging torque, and current measurement errors. To achieve strong anti-disturbance rejection capability, this paper proposed a control strategy applied in outer loop for PMSM drives based on uncertainty and disturbance estimator (UDE). The lump disturbances are estimated by the UDE, and then compensated to the output of the outer-loop PI regulator. The filter of the estimator is the key for the studied method. Here, its design criteria are that target function is 0 at frequency of disturbance to minimize influence on tracking performance. The correctness of the mentioned strategy is validated by simulation results.
