Abstract
Linear motors can be applied in a wide range of drive scenarios. This paper develops a voice coil motor for maglev vibration isolator (MVI). The stator of the motor is composed of three sets of annular permanent magnet (PM) stacked together. Firstly, the analytical expression of the air-gap magnetic flux density of the stator PMs is derived using the equivalent surface current method. Then, the electromagnetic force of the voice coil motor is derived using the Lorentz law. Finally, the electromagnetic characteristics of the voice coil motor are characterized by finite element simulation, and the correctness of the analytical model is verified. The analysis results show that the derived analytical model can accurately predict the electromagnetic characteristics of the voice coil motor, providing theoretical support for engineering applications.
