Abstract
The kinematic and dynamic characteristics of a planar five-bar mechanism are analyzed. Equations of positive kinematic and inverse kinematic are deduced. Kane dynamic equations are introduced to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a planar five-bar mechanism. The results show that the inertia forces are the main factor to affect the performance of a five-bar mechanism.
