Analysis of the equilibrium manifold linearization model for normal shock position control

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

The equilibrium manifold linearization model of nonlinear shock motion provides improvement with higher accuracies and lower complexities over previous models, such as the small perturbation model and the piecewise-linear model. This paper analyzes the physical significance of the equilibrium manifold linearization model, from which the self-feedback mechanism of shock motion is revealed. This helps to describe the stability and dynamics of shock motion. Moreover, this paper analyzes the underlying application merits of the equilibrium manifold linearization model.
