Abstract

Laser imaging radar is capable of giving multidimensional information on an object therefore it is a better tool for target detection and target recognition. The quality of the scanner is the key element for obtaining high quality 2-D image of the target. A detection device is required to verify the scanning performance of the optical scanner. The axis of the scanning performance detection device must be is in alignment with the optical scanner of laser imaging radar. In this paper, variousvarious alignment errors that may occur in the course of measurement were analyzed theoretically for the performance measurement system of the optical scanner of laser radar. The alignment errors' influence on the scanning performance of the optical scanner was discussed in detaile. The tolerance of various alignment errors for the optical scanning system was presented.
