Abstract

Pyrolytic properties under various heating rates of coal-water slurry(CWS), produced by Shengli CWS Plant, have been studied with a DTG-60H type thermogravimetric-thermographic analyzer, a Japanese SHIMADZU Co. product. The tested heating rates were 20 °C/min, 30 °C/min and 50 °C/min. The gas used was 99.999% pure N2 with a sweeping flow rate of 100 ml/min. The granularity distribution in the slurry was determined by the wet method, using a SUCELL CL laser sized distribution analyzer, a German SYMPA Co. product. The slurry's pyrolytic kinetic parameters, at different heating rates, were then calculated with the test data and the pyrolytic characteristics of coal water slurry analyzed. Results show that the weight loss ratio and the activation energy both increase with rising heating rate, wherewith the pyrolytic performance is improved and causes heat release to get more concentrated.
