Abstract

To investigate the impact of boundary conditions to the bubbly flows through a converging-diverging nozzle, an iterative correction algorithm was developed for solving the steady bubbly flows with the homogeneous continuum bubbly mixture model, based on the variable step Runge-Kutta scheme for Rayleigh-Plesset equation. The flow field through the nozzle was simulated subsequently, and variations of spherical bubbles radius and mixture density in the nozzle were obtained. Moreover a series of computations have been performed with different boundary conditions and consequently obtained the influence of bubble reference radius, the nozzle inlet velocity, the initial volume void fraction to the flow field with the computation results.
