Abstract

Firstly, the importance and necessity of oil and gas exploitation towards deep-water areas in China is briefly introduced, and the state-of-the-art of vibration control techniques in civil engineering, especially the Active Mass Driver (AMD) control techniques are reviewed, thereafter the method of AMD control of deep-water platform structure against wind-wave coupled excitations is proposed. Then, the structural calculation model and experimental loading model are established according to the background of a foreign practical engineering and the environmental condition of South Sea in China, furthermore the wind-wave loading history is simulated. At last, the AMD control analysis is conducted, and the results show that AMD control is an effective method for vibration suppression of wind-wave coupled excitations of deep-water ocean platform structures.
