Abstract
The cooling problem of two 9-cell superconducting RF cavities for the Peking University Superconducting Accelerator Facility (PKU-SCAF) was studied. Based on vacuum pumping accompanied with throttling process, presenting several superfluid helium cooling cycles and analyzing their flow principle and cooling characteristic. Analysis indicates that the cooling cycle which adopting this cooling cycle with low temperature and low pressure heat exchanger has high coefficient of performance and low power consumption. The temperature-entropy graph of the low temperature cooling system for this cooling cycle is presented.
