Abstract

As a typical industrial building, the fabricated modular structure has a good prospect for the development and application. In order to obtain the performance and characteristics of the fabricated modular structure, a simulation model of seven-story fabricated modular residential structure of standard apartment layout was built up with the new size container module. The researches on two structural measures for enhancing lateral stiffness, including increasing local columns, beams and installing auxiliary cable, were done to make sure the effects of different structural measures on the structural lateral stiffness. Meanwhile, rigid joint model was compared with articulated joints to investigate the impact of joint stiffness on structural performance. The analysis result shows that increasing the auxiliary diagonal cables has a more significant effect on providing lateral stiffness effect, and the result has great difference between the rigid joint and articulated joint. The lateral stiffness and mechanical performance could be improved obviously with the rigid joint scheme. Finally, a reasonable scheme of seven-story fabricated modular structure was put forward, which could provide theoretical support for the design and application of multi-story fabricated modular structure.
