Abstract

In this stage, linear motors are gradually replacing rotary motors for the actuators of linear servo systems due to their high accuracy as well as high response speed. Based on the principle of magnetic field modulation, the linear vernier motor achieves a role similar to that of a permanent magnet synchronous motor with variable poles, thus realizing the electromagnetic characteristics of large thrust at low speeds. In this paper, we propose a 6-slots, 10-poles spoke structure linear permanent magnet vernier motor (SLPMVM)with higher thrust density and higher air gap accuracy than the conventional vernier motor. Firstly, the basic structure and working principle of the motor are introduced, then the electromagnetic characteristics of the motor are analyzed and improved through parameter optimization, and finally the advantages of SLPMVM are analyzed by comparing with the traditional LPMVM.
