N2 - A novel starting circuit is proposed in this paper, which can provide voltage high enough to ignite HID lamp during the start-up stage. In the steady state, the lamps operate under low frequency square-wave voltage which is superposed with high frequency components to avoid acoustic resonance. In addition, analysis of the influence for starting voltage, such as different frequency and different duty ratio drive signal has been done.
