Abstract

Different installation scheme for the Kingkey Financial Centre was analyzed to study the additional stress of two types of outrigger-braces. The additional stress developing rules with the construction progress of single outrigger-brace and the interaction of additional stress in different outrigger-braces with different installation schedule is studied. The analysis results show that additional stress developing rules of single outrigger-brace is same in any construction phrase even if it is installed in different schedule. The effect of other outriggers to some outrigger-brace could be obtained by adding the effect of every other outrigger-brace to the outrigger-brace, and the influence between different outrigger-braces is very small. The curves of maximum additional stress versus connection time of the outrigger-brace are obtained. The optimum scheduling method of outrigger-brace installation with the additional stress as control objective is proposed and verified by a numerical example. The field monitoring of outrigger-brace construction of Kingkey Financial Centre was implemented. The numerical analysis results agree well with the monitoring results, which proves the feasibility and the validity of the method. The proposed method can be used to guide the outrigger-brace installation of similar super high-rise buildings.
