Abstract
In order to improve the efficiency and power density of the low-voltage high-current input Boost PFC, a novel interleaved totem-pole bridgeless zero-ripple boost rectifier for power factor correction (PFC) is proposed in this paper. With the combination of the bridgeless and the interleaving technologies, the losses of input rectifier bridge, the power switching devices and the boost inductor are reduced, and the partial over heating points of traditional Boost PFC are eliminated, and the efficiency of the Boost PFC converter is improved, so that it is more suitable for the low-voltage high-current applications. With the combination of the interleaving and the zero-ripple technologies, the electromagnetic interference (EMI) characteristics of the converter are improved, and the size of input and output filter inductors and capacitors are reduced. Thus the converter efficiency and the power density are higher. The principle of the operation and the parameters calculations are described in detail. A 1kW prototype converter was implemented in the laboratory based on DSP, and the tested result verifies the analysis.
