An Electromagnetic Design of a Double-sided Coreless Linear Motor with Superconducting AC Coils and Permanent Magnets

Abstract

This paper investigates an electromagnetic design of a double-sided coreless linear motor with superconducting AC coils. Firstly, the electromagnetic model and force model of the motor are constructed. Moreover, the accuracy of the analytical model is verified through finite element simulation in COMSOL. Secondly, the motor's design scheme, which considers the dependence of the critical current of the superconducting material on the magnetic field and temperature, is put forward and applied to design the motor parameters at 40K. Finally, the influence of the main parameters of the design scheme on the motor performance is analyzed through simulation.
