Abstract

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is a complex heat transfer system, so it is difficult to calculate the temperature rise of PMSM efficiently and accurately. In order to calculate the thermal performance of PMSM, this paper proposes an efficient and high fidelity thermal computation model based on finite-element analysis (FEA) results and interpolation. After the establishment of the model, the required results can be look up from the interpolation database directly without FEA calculation, so the efficiency and the accuracy of the model are guaranteed. The accuracy of the model is verified by FEA and experimental results.
