Abstract

According to the urgent need of 3D display of sea map, a 3D vector sea map display technology with graphic processing unit (GPU) acceleration is designed with the controllable system on the structure of ARM, the hardware processing platform of central processing unit (CPU) of Feiteng 2000, the graphics card of Jingjiawei 920, and the Galaxy Kylin Operation system. A vectorized shader design method is proposed. It depends on the multi-core parallel processing ability of hardware, making full use of CPU multi-core computing resources on the basis of GPU to realize the display effect of 3D vector chart with smooth display and no stumbling under the rate of 1920*1080 with 25 frames per second, it delivers approximately 12% performance improvement and reduces 8% CPU by resource utilization which is compared to the pipeline-based rendering method, and it is an ideal rendering method.
