Abstract

Some of the effective way to lower catalyst content in well-aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) films is presented. Common methods used to grow aligned carbon nanotubes at present are chemical vapor deposition and catalytic pyrolysis of liquid carbon source. The latter method is particularly appreciated because large-scale, rapid production of aligned CNT could be realized through this method. Further study is focused on the growth mechanism of aligned CNT.
