Abstract

An effective method was presented to locate the best vibration measurement points in a small module space gear life experiment for overcoming the blindness of arranging measurement points with the traditional methods and improving the precision of signal testing. The stiffness distribution of a system was obtained by using the finite element modal and harmonic response analysis. The vector sum of harmonic response amplitude was catculated and the theoretical best locations of vibration measurement points were determined. The theoretical best vibration measurement points were verified by using the kurtosis index method based on a space gear vibration platform. The experimental results showed that eight of nine theoretical points are in good agreement with the experimental results. It proved the validity of the presented method. The results provided a theoretical and experimental foundation for further study on space vehicle transmission mechanism life.
