Abstract

Considering the disadvantage of traditional "Repeat Request-retransmission" wireless broadcasting transmission, a novel approach to wireless broadcasting retransmission based on network coding is presented. Retransmission information is cached by the broadcast source and lost packets is combined by using network coding for retransmission broadcasting. The correlative theoretical analysis indicated that the retransmission method based on network coding, under the premise of the data solvability of receive node, reduces the number of retransmission. The simulation results show that the proposed approach can improve the throughput efficiency of node compared with HARQ.
