Abstract
As aviation technology advances, planes are becoming larger and more efficient, resulting in a greater volume of data that has to be handled. Conventional communication protocols such as ARINC429, ARINC629, and MIL-STD-1553B are no longer sufficient in terms of data transfer speed and quality. This design seeks to create a compact AFDX (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet) data collection module using the miniVPX platform, in accordance with the ARINC specification 664. The module adheres to the P2 section about the physical layer and the P7 section concerning the data link layer in the ARINC specification 664. The text primarily presents the logical firmware and techniques for implementing the functions of the data link layer. These operations, as outlined in the P7 section of the ARINC specification 664, encompass Integrity Checking and Redundancy Management. Simultaneously, it possesses a user configuration interface and has the capability to modify its operational state in real-time. The simulation verification demonstrates that the planned AFDX data collection module is capable of achieving real-time and predictable communication in AFDX networks.
