Abstract
We report a new substituted polydiacetylene compound that shows excellent switching properties. All-optical switching in the new compound has been measured using 8 ns pulses width. The switching down and switching up times are 33 ns and 27 ns, respectively. The experimental results show that the switching process is attributed to excited state absorption of the new polymer molecules.
