Abstract
An improved 2D MUSIC algorithm that operates in beamspace for DOA estimation with the uniform circular array is developed. The algorithm requires only real eigenvalue decompositions to obtain signal and noise subspace estimation, so it has the advantages of simple computation, high precision and good performance in coherent sources. The efficiency of this method is verified by computer simulations.
