Abstract
Adsorption mechanism of dispersant PMAA-NH4 on BaTiO3 was studied by using ζ potential and FTIR spectrum. After the addition of PMAA-NH4 the results show that the positive charge, Ba-OH+2, existing on the surface of BaTiO3 adsorbs the negative ion of the dispersant. The surface charge of BaTiO3 changes and its IEP moves from pH=5.1 to pH=3.5. When pH=10, the concentration of PMAA-NH4 is 0.8 wt%, the adsorption comes up to saturation and stabilized BaTiO3 suspension can be obtained.
