Adaptive PLL for High-Frequency Signal Injection Based Sensorless PMSM Drives

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In order to improve the performance for high-frequency signal injection based sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive, an improved position demodulation scheme is presented to track the position without the phase delay. On this basis, a novel adaptive phase-locked loop (PLL) is proposed to reduce the transient speed error under variable load conditions. The bandwidth and the gain of the adaptive PLL is auto-tuned according to the variable load. The proposed scheme is verified on a 7.5-kW surface-mounted PMSM drive platform.
