Abstract
Conventional monopulse algorithm is an efficient method for angle estimation of a single target in white Gaussian spatial noise environment, and should be improved in the presence of mainbeam interference or color noise. The basic principles of adaptive monopulse algorithm dealing with color noise background and complex monopulse ratio algorithm dealing with two targets within a mainbeam are introduced. Then angle estimation in the presence of mainbeam interference is systematically analyzed as a special problem, and several solutions including adaptive monopulse, complex monopulse ratio and other methods are given.
