Abstract
An adaptive deadbeat control method in stationary reference frame for distribution level static synchronous compensator (D-STATCOM) is proposed. Firstly, in order to reduce the compensation error of D-STATCOM with traditional deadbeat controller when switching frequency is low, a new mathematical model for deadbeat controller is constructed. In this model, the line voltage is taken as a variable instead of constant in one switching period. Secondly, to cancel the effect of parameter deviation on compensation performance and hence to improve the performance, a parameter estimation method based on the least mean square (LMS) algorithm is applied. The estimation value of the parameters is used to adjust mathematical model of deadbeat controller adaptively. Finally, a hybrid prediction method is proposed to predict reference current and line voltage, which is important and necessary for deadbeat controller. The prediction method proposed provides good dynamic performance and high precision. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed adaptive deadbeat control method can obtain high accuracy and fast response.
