Abstract

In this paper, after a brief introduction on the developed plug-and-play (PnP) process monitoring and control architecture, a decentralized plug-and-play (PnP) process monitoring system for large-scale industrial processes is studied. And then, aiming at lower online computational load and more flexible industrial implementation, a decentralized adaptive configuration technique is further developed for linear time-invariant (LTI) discrete-time system. The stability of the overall adaptive system and each decentralized subsystem is guaranteed. In order to demonstrate the equivalence of the decentralized and centralized configuration, the proposed approach is applied on the well established three-tank benchmark system, and the effectiveness of the proposed approaches is illustrated.
