Abstract
This paper presents an analytical model for predicting AC copper loss in the hairping winding. The proposed model can predict the copper loss in the case of arbitrary conductor configurations. Finite element analysis has been used to verify the accuracy of the proposed model. The results show that the more times of conductors interleave with different phases, the smaller the slot magnetic leakage flux and conductor loss. Meanwhile, with the increase of the saturation degree in stator core, the loss induced by permanent magnet field in the conductors becomes larger but the AC loss coefficient becomes smaller.
