Abstract

A new wide band k-distribution model is developed to calculate the radiative properties of water vapor and carbon dioxide gas mixtures. The absorption coefficients of water vapor and carbon dioxide are expressed in polynomial functions based on the line parameters in HITEMP database. Results of wall flux between two cold and black parallel plates departed by water vapor and carbon dioxide gas mixtures are compared with that of line-by-line calculations, full-spectrum correlated k-distribution model and full-spectrum scaled k-distribution model, which shows that the relative error of wide band k-distribution model is much smaller than that of full-spectrum correlated k-distribution model and full-spectrum scaled k-distribution model. Furthermore, the wide k-distribution model can easily deal with gas mixtures.
