Abstract

A novel kind of dipole antenna with directed radiation is designed. By complanation of .dipole antenna and putting a metal squares array as a director, a new structure of wide-band antenna is obtained. The CST software is implemented to build the model of antenna and analyze the influence to antenna's performances when varying the length of squares and the gap width of array. The results indict that antenna designed in paper has the band width of 5.15 GHz when input reflection coefficient is less than -10 dB with relative bandwidth 30.6%. The dimension of antenna is 13.5×7×1.1 mm and has the gain as 4.76 dB working at 16.83 GHz.
