abstract = "A wide-angle scanning phased array antenna based on transmitarrays is proposed in this paper. It is composed of a 1×4 circular microstrip patch antenna array and a transmitarrays. The transmitarrays is consisted with frequency selective surface (FSS) elements. The transmitarrays elements have a high transimission (-2.45dB) and 356.1° phase shift. This transmitarrays can expand the scanning range of the patch antenna array and maintain a lower gain loss during wider angle scanning. The proposed phased array antenna was simulated through CST Microwave Studio Electromagnetic Simulation Software. Simulated results show that the phased array can scan beam from -60° to 60° within a 1dB gain fluctuation. The simulated results indicate that this novel method can be used as a technical reference for the wide-angle scanning phased array antenna design in radar seeker.",
