Abstract

This paper presents a compact and wideband vertically polarized omnidirectional parallel plate waveguide (PPW) antenna operating in the W-band. The antenna is excited by a TE10-TM01 mode converter based on power divider and a coupling junction, eliminating the need for coaxial transmission lines. The antenna bandwidth covers 84-104 GHz (21.3%) with return loss better than 15 dB. The gain of the antenna maintains a stable level of approximately 5 dBi across the entire operating band.
