Abstract

As a new radar detective system, passive radar which is based on a GPS illuminator is attracting increasing attention. The method of suppressing interference in the echo channel is a key point due to the weak GPS scattered signals. According to the character of the passive radar based on GPS, a two-stage disturbance cancellation method combining ECA and CLEAN was proposed to suppress the interference. In the first stage, ECA was used to remove the direct-path and multi-path interference. In the second stage, the CLEAN algorithm was used to iteratively suppress the side-lobe interference of the strong target echo. The method can effectively restrain disturbance in the channel without estimation of the disturbance parameter, thereby avoiding reduction of the restraint performance caused by the disturbance parameter estimation error. Its effectiveness is demonstrated with the simulation results.
