abstract = "In this paper, we report the realization of a low-density vertically aligned carbon nanotube (VA-CNT) array and show that it can have an ultra-low total reflectance due to its nanoscale surface roughness and low index of refraction as recently predicted by theories [1]. Our VA-CNT arrays have a total reflectance R=0.1\%, which is 60\%-80\% lower than the previously reported lowest value, making it the best candidate for an ideal, all-angle, all-wavelength optical absorber.",
