title = "A Study of Acoustic Environment Preferences and Improvement Strategies for Indoor Public Spaces in Colleges and Universities in Winter in Cold Regions",
abstract = "This study investigates acoustic environment preferences and proposes improvement strategies for indoor public spaces in colleges and universities located in cold regions during winter. Using questionnaire surveys and the Semantic Differential method, we analyzed acoustic preferences in Harbin Institute of Technology{\textquoteleft}s architecture building. Results indicate that due to cold-climate buildings{\textquoteright} sound isolation characteristics, indoor sound sources, especially conversation, have increased influence. Participants preferred appropriate background music while disliking equipment noise. Based on these findings, we propose strategies to improve indoor sound environments, including optimizing space design, introducing sound-absorbing materials, and controlling equipment noise. This research provides valuable insights for enhancing acoustic comfort in university indoor public spaces in cold regions.",
