Abstract

After analyzing the static clustering-based base station coordination strategy and the dynamic clustering-based base station coordination strategy for the uplink, this paper proposes a static base station coordination strategy based on inter-cluster interference cancellation. When the new strategy works, coordinated base stations use the linear beam forming or the successive interference cancellation technique to suppress the interference from the edge users in adjacent clusters to effectively eliminate the inter-cluster interference, and to intra-cluster users, adopt the linear beam forming to cooperatively suppress the intra-cluster multi-user interference. The simulations show that the proposed strategy outperforms the single-cell processing strategy and the static clustering strategy, and in some cases, is even better than the dynamic clustering strategy, achieving the effective elimination of inter-cell interference and the improvement of the user fairness and the spectral efficiency. Moreover, it reduces the algorithm complexity needed by the dynamic clustering strategy.
