A simplified direct torque control method of PMSM applied in electric vehicles

Abstract

On the issue of direct torque control of permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) applied in electric vehicles, the related process of motor running is analyzed. Since the traditional synchronous machine has the characteristic that the torque can be reduced in the process of dynamic braking, which is an important part of direct torque control, a kind of method is presented through analysis. The method suitable for electric vehicles combines conventional dynamic braking with the PMSM direct torque control. Therefore, the direct torque control process of PM synchronous machine is simplified. The mathematic analysis and simulation result show this method is effective.
